Short Bio

Greetings from "Gods County", Potter County ,PA.  My wife and I had moved here in 2005 from the Lehigh Valley, Kempton, PA.  I was born in the Lehigh Valley, Bethlehem PA.  Our family was in the electrical/ electronics industry.  My grandfather started the business in the late 20's designing Neon lighting.  He said that I was born with electricity in my veins instead of blood.  I built my first crystal radio at 7 and started on the Morse code in 1958.  I passed my Novice exam and my call was KN3ZTJ. I built a 6L6 transmitter using plug in coils for 80 and 40 cw.  My reciever was a Lafayette KT 200 going to a dipole at 70 ft.  Soon I passed my Tech and then General.  It was the early 60's and I was in High School and didn't have the time to really do Ham Radio any justice.  I went to college in St. Louis ,Mo at Washington U.  My major was BioMedicial Engineering/Pre med.  I was married in 1971 and worked for many years traveling as a Project/Process engineer.   In 1998 my wife and I found our dream home in Kempton, PA.  I had then began to get back into Ham Radio and contesting.  I had 7 stations in a 40X40 ham shack.  In 2003 I became paralyzed from the waist down.  Since then I have started back into ham radio and rebuilding my station and antenna farm in Potter Co.  We always have a place for hams aat our home in Coudersport.  some of our friends spend a week during the summer with us.  We have about 20 acres on top of Niles Hill.  One tower at 40 ft and 2 more to erect.  We sit at 2265 Ft ASL.
